The
Australian Business Roundtable on Climate
Change is an independent entity established
by six large businesses in Australia.
Roundtable members are BP Australia,
Insurance Australia Group, Origin Energy,
Swiss Re, Visy Industries and Westpac
with the Australian Conservation Foundation.
Member companies have a combined work
force of about 40,000 employees and a
collective reach to nearly 100% of Australian
households and businesses through banking
and finance, insurance, energy production
and retail, product packaging and recycling
and community programs. Likely constraints
on greenhouse gas emissions affect the
members' operations, customers, investors
and communities.
The Roundtable is committed to participating
in and leading stakeholder discussions
on climate change strategy and will use
its reach to disseminate information
and build understanding about opportunities
and risks.
